Hi, I’m Gillian, owner and woodturner at The Wee Scottish Woodshed. I started woodturning in 2022, and was immediately hooked, and enjoy making quirky things with character.
All my products are made with love and care, and are individual. I take inspiration from the work of others – either crafters, or what I see in the shops – but will always try and put my own twist on it.
I do a few other crafts (especially in the winter when it’s too cold to be out at the lathe) and will sometimes share some of them here too – but my main focus is wood.
I source my wood primarily from sources local to me in Aberdeenshire, this includes nice pieces of driftwood found at the beach or foraged branches which have fallen to the forest floor. Occasionally I will buy wood from further afield.
